Well 1.8 is out and this question is inevitable... Would it be possible to create multiple worlds you can switch between in beta? The 1.8 update seems to have added a lot of improvements to map generation... I've explored a bit in singleplayer and there are some cool new places to explore. Surely we can't just add new things like mine shafts and ravines without a brand new map right? And also, would it be possible to make our current level about 25% higher? I saw something in the 1.8 change log about simplifying world height. It just seems like the ideal height for large towers (*cough* suicide towers *cough*)... Yeah i know, I'm a noob in beta =P But I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I think the majority of the community want a new map anyway, but 1.7 maps that generate new chunks get the 1.8 features, like ravines, mineshafts, villages and strongholds, etc.
Also, there may be something in the bukkit software that allows the height change of maps, if not, i will look into it further.

yep but the new 1.8 generated chunks won;t be continued so it fits with the generated chunk creating some ugly map cuts... (1.7 map)
