i have an idea to put an icon to show the server status on the forums i made a sample picture to show this idea to help my crappy explanation out. its like a little light that would turn green when online and red when offline, its near the date and time in the upper right corner. its green and online in this picture.

I think this is a good idea, but I wonder how the coding would work for a gadget like that.

It can be done, however not until i finish getting websites to respond to heartbeats from HawkServ (lots of php scripting, which i'll have to teach myself).

There will be a website which will have information about every server that runs HawkServ (from the heartbeat that it uses for Minecraft.net to display servers).

It'll be a forum category, rather than a icon or button. The category will also link to the server URL, and have a players count in it. Similar to a game forums i visited:

Zion, are you planning to distribute the HawkServ software to other servers? I'm sure we can set up a forum advertisement campaign for you haha :P

Do any other servers run HawkServ yet?

Currently the only servers running HawkServ are Hawknet Freebuild and Hawknet Testing. I will be making the software public once it's in a state for public use (a little while to go yet).

There will also be a website dedicated to HawkServ, and HawkServ forums will move from here to that website.
