To clear any rumors about Jake.

Jake was being monitored since his reaction a few months ago when Techy10, Belgeran and Rogiler were promoted to Admin (and he wasn't). After the promotions, he soon gained an attitude, and created foul builds in Guest, and was talking behind our backs in whisper to other users.

From there, further whispers were being recorded, and meanings behind a code language which he developed were revealed (the translations of the code not being very pleasant). Soon after he and another SuperOp had a public argument in the forums' shoutbox, where Jake openly admitted to not care about copyright, and using our services to distribute copyrighted software. This happened a few times and it got to the point where action needed to be taken.

Yesterday, it was revealed that Jake was sending users private messages advertising his own server. This is a breach of our rules and Terms, and is what earned him his demotion. We had a small chat with him, explaining what had happened, and he took it relatively well, or so we thought. He was then demoted to Agent, and we even told him that he could reapply to be an operator.

A few hours later, Jake updated his profile information, removing his avatar, website, location and contact details, but adding a line in his signature which was a Russian string which translated exactly to swearing directly towards other users. This instantly earned him his permanent ban from all of Hawknet's services, including services running under Hawknet Computing.

Anything else said by anyone else is speculation, and they should be pointed to this topic for clarification.

It was not a single day thing, or a few weeks, this went on from the middle of last year. This is what happened to Jake, and how he earned his ban.

I should add that we did talk to him and warn him about his behaviour numerous times leading up to this. It wasn't just a case of monitoring and gathering evidence, we actively warned him about what he was doing and where it was leading.
