Post your thoughts on the themed guest map.

Themed guest maps are usually kept for 2 weeks. 1 week before and after. The Christmas one is different however because decorations always go up the start of December and are taken off at the end of the month.
New Years Day, Valentines Day, St. Patricks Day, Easter, Mothers day and Fathers day, Queens Birthday, Halloween and Christmas. 2 weeks for each and 1 month for Christmas adds up to 22 weeks (5 and a half months) of a themed guest. That's nearly half a year of themes.
Even though it is a freebuild, some people feel they are restricted to what they build because they think others expect them to build something related to the theme. This defeats the purpose of a Freebuild. Personally, I really don't mind just having the model (just like the haloween theme) for the theme.
I was pondering on the idea of just having the model around and taking away the terrain. I think that if we continue changing the grass, then it feels like were changing the freebuild every month.
I think changing the grass is going over the top because it's totally different to the normality. Belgeran came up with a good point saying "Why do people feel restricted to what they build in winter theme and not in the usual theme?" My answer was "People do not feel restricted because the plain grass and water is part of the real MC. People do not think twice about grass and water because MC has always been that."
In conclusion, I think that models are fine, just changing the terrain is over the top :3

how can there be a theme for mothers day and fathers day. We only have 5 themes which is 10 weeks which is a little over 2 months.

Doesn't look like there are any winter builds here:

Actually it's 18 weeks (4 and a half months) and 16 weeks (4 1/4 months) excluding Queens Birthday.
Mothers day and Fathers day would probably be model and text.

*steps back and looks at bigger picture* We are arguing over something that comes around 1 time a year for about a month (as it seems as if it's not themes in general but the christmas one that is making (some) people annoyed.) Also, it's being mainly argued over guest by people that are above guest rank and have a multitude of maps that they could build in that aren't themed. In the poll for whether or not to keep the themes after quite awhile have shown to keep them. Topic locked.
