Towny is a plugin that has protection like factions, but calls them towns. Also, I believe that you can set mob spawning on or off for each individual town. There are no prefixes showing your town. I like factions, but I don't mind if it is replaced with Towny.

I haven't fully read up on Towny yet, but it could promote real estate, and potentially better constructions. Due to it not being based on Power (Factions is designed to be based around battles and wars and taking over and stuff, not just territory marking) we could potentially allow for PVP arenas where members from Towns competitively battle.

Since we have a functional economy, and people seem to love using the store, I thought it'd be a good idea to have users create towns at a fee, and they can sell plots of land in their town for others to buy and build on.

So for a while now I've been trying to get a little story off the ground to spice up the server/kill boredom as Minecraft eventually gets boring since there's only so much you can do.

I'd like to discuss whether or not I should continue to try this or give up and have the Towns just mature as they want. If needed I can play the bad guy, I have on other occasions, and we can have the rest of the Team act as major players to keep things on track.

However while there's an end point and a beginning point to these stories, how we get there is up to the players. These stories are entirely interactive and you choose how things happen with slight guidance from the "narrators" which are whomever of the Team wishes to join in.

Also if we are trying another story, how would you like it to go? A war? An arms race? Something to do with magic? A technology focus? We can do something with the economy if needed. Cultural differences? An adventure?

I'd like to hear from our members on whether they'd want to do something and if so what they'd like to do because of course, the more the merrier.

Yeah I'd be up for that, these sorts of things have been fun in the past.

Perhaps the story could involve the attempted instalment of some sort of paramilitary force to crack down on the excessively rich pumpkin barons, such as myself. :3

Well when we do these things we have to consider the complexity of the actual idea as well as how long it's going to take to set up. Generally we have members of the Op Team on either side to help guide the various players to a certain point an example of this would be the battle between Gara and myself way back when in season 1.

There's also a set up aspect we need to watch out for. That's why we have been trying to get a war going as the Towns are already built and the war can be started at any time.

For the paramilitary force thingy we'd need to see who's on either side, who's going to lead the force against the rich people, who's going to work with the rich people, who'll lead the rich people and where it's all going to happen. Now to set this up we'll need battlegrounds, headquarters for both sides and various other areas that'll be relevant to this story. We'll also need to set it up to be inclusive rather than it just be the regulars doing it. While the important roles can be filled by Arch+, we'll need to get the guests involved some way. We'll also need a balancer to prevent people decked out in all diamond from wreaking everyone in PVP. That's why I have people use iron stuff with the leaders using gold or diamond to make them out to be different.

IF you have any ideas of how to get this done, by all means, that's what this discussion's for.

A last note, would you like the Team to come up with a loose story based on this suggestion and everyone else just going along with it or would you like everyone who goes on the forums to know and it'll be more about how we get to that point rather than actually getting there?
