I wasn't overly keen on Megaupload, but it doesn't surprise me at all.

When you let your users run wild on your website, uploading what they want to share to others, that's when the problems arise, and it's this exact reason why we're so strict on user submitted content on our websites, since we could face the same thing if we done nothing about it.

Here's a question for you, if they can shut down forien 'rouge sites' already, why do they need SOPA and PIPA in the first place?

Theres no doubt American Government overstepped its bounds on this one. The site should have been taken down by their government in stead of ours. As a result of this Anonymous a hacking group has launched an attack on the American Government. Several sites were taken down such as The Justice website and several mass media supporters of SOPA and PIPA. The situation too me looks like it could either get out of hand fast or it could calm down now. Its pretty much a deciding point.

When I first saw them and their videos I completely supported them. Until I realized that what they do doesn't really make that much of a change. It seems like every month they are doing some event that will make this huge change... but it never happens. I do think activism (especially supporting freedom of speech) is a good thing... Just not so much Anonyomous. :3

Only word from me on Anon is that you don't taunt a bull without gettin' gored. (I don't support the gov't taking down sites though)

Define "activism"?
Like occupy or the Tea Party?

Activism. Taking action for something you believe in.
