I think it was by the company that made the Elder Scrolls, because Mojang was going to make a game called Scrolls, and they tried to patent the name, therefore the company is suing then D:

Yeah...I'm not sure if I got that right, but it was something close to that. I know the Elder Scrolls thing is true though :3

The Company sueing Mojang is called Zenimax, The Mother Company than owns Bethesada Softworks.

It's a confusing concept in as far as when you hold the patent for somthing such as a Title it can include each idividaul word of that title. That's MY understanding of it anyway.

In other words every word in the title of 'The Elder Scrolls' can be the cause for a claim if the words are used in the same field, (in this case, Games,) With the exception of the prefix 'The'

Talking about the lawsuit isnt going offtopic because the topic is about the post note that Notch made which includes the lawsuit.
And a thread about a game's birthday can only go so far unless we begin to discuss just how much they've achieved within the year with their constant flow of updates, new features and the crazy amount of Internet attention they've received for what is basically a very simple game.
