I thought this might be an idea: I'm aware that a lot of the Hawknet community are all good friends with each other, and I thought it might be an idea to have certain nights where people from the Hawknet community could Skype with each other, perhaps to discuss certain matters or maybe to just have a good time. ^^ Of course people don't have to take part if they don't want to, but I think it would be a good opportunity for people to get to know each other better as well as a better way of communicating. ^-^

I suppose, but this would be more official. Like dates and times could be set or something. Also this would give people something to look forward to in their day. :D

I like the idea and it being a bit more official. Pretty much like what we did with the Mumble Server. But that was rarely used.

I think that perhaps when a date is set we can find out who's going to participate and then we can find out what time it would be for their time zone.

I'm Forever Alone on Skype, no one ever talks to me unless they have a problem.

In fact, I've noticed that people don't talk to me unless they want something, be it information, or help. D:

Well Zion, you'd be surprised at how much fun talking about random things to people on Skype can be. We also sometimes play games like Draw Something as well while we're at it. Trust me, after this you'll never be Forever Alone again on Skype. And I'd say that people ask you for help and information because everyone looks up to you, like a role model. ^_^ :V

i'd recommend using team speak mumble since we already have that set up, we'd just need people to use it and it would just require people to just get on the team speak mumble server instead of having to be invited to the call.

Why not use the call feature of steam for people that have it. It's pretty much the same as skype but a little more anonymous since it doesn't use Webcam just the mic.

Skype calls do not require the use of a webcam.

Agreed. It seems either Skype or mumble would be the best option. Mumble seems to fit the purpose a bit more but then more people I would think have Skype. So it's kind of a choice..

and the admins could moderate it much easier. i'm curious as to what we would do as per rules for the call thingy.

The idea is good in priciple but will ultimatly fail in practice, for something like what Matrix is sugestting here, Teamspeak would be more suitible.

We already have small Skype groups where we talk. (Alot of times just typing, no chat)
This is alot more convenient for people like me who have alot to do (School work and what not) and can't always be there to chat. Leaving the extra window opened for Skype makes it easy for me see wen someone says something with out having leave what I'm working on.

In my opinion I think using either mumble or Teamspeak would be a lot easier, You can enable push to talk so you don't always hear back ground noise from other people. Plus with skype who ever is hosting the call if they have a bad connection then everybody lags, If we use mumble or Teamspeak then we wouldn't really have that problem.
