I came up with this idea not so long ago. Since we're not getting a lot of new people on both our servers, why don't we advertise it on MCForums or PlanetMinecraft etc...? I personally don't find anything wrong with it. I'd happily do the advertising for the server. I'll add a poll to see wether you like the idea or not. You also may comment below.

I'm not sure about this. I can see the good faith but I think it could attract the wrong kind of people to the server (Griefers, mostly). I did try advertising on the Minecraft Forums once, but the topic needed verifying by the administrators, and I guess it never happened.

Sniper also advertised his server on PlanetMinecraft, which attracted a lot of bad people to both our SMP, and his SMP server. I can just see it resulting in more bad people than good people.

Also, should this topic be in OpDiscussion? It seems to be worded that way. o.o

Bad people. Griefers. What are Operators for then? I think if a lot of griefers come, our Op Team would control them anyways.

True but many operators prefer SMP over Classic now, and some operators still can't connect to Classic due to some issue or another.

As for advertising... I like it but we need to pick our advertising place carefully to reduce the griefers. Also regarding the SMP over classic thingy, I'll be able to get on more regularly in september so you'll have another one of the team on classic then.

Yes, more Ops are on SMP. Then they should be on Classic as well. They didn't get the Operator rank for nothing. I'd really like to see more people on Classic. I still remember when the server was full all the time. A lot of new people would get ranked up easily, and probably go up to Operator rank. I am still looking forward to advertising the server.

FYI I would get on classic if i could, my computer has been acting up for a while now and i crash when i try to join any classic server. As for advertising, I'm all for it, but as satan said we need to be careful where we advertise.

Edit: Just tried to connect, it worked on the first try o-o... Looks like I'm back on classic

I have also been unable to get on classic as it does the cannot connect to server, it's probably down message. Though i do watch classic via console.
