My teacher offered me some help but she always gets way to technical and i don't understand what she is saying Anyway, just needed alittle help with this kinda thing. Mrs. Vanderslice is giving out a big test at the end of the year primarily based on equations and inequalities.

well first you distribute the -4 so you get -5d-24=-4d-24-d
combine like terms: -5d-24=-5d-24
add 5d: -24=d-24
+24: 0=d

Simplify the equation after
multiply each side by 1/5
The equation will now be isolated
d = ?/? -> use calculator to translate fraction to number
