Now I reckon the problem may be on my end. becuse My Laucher keeps failing to pick up Minecraft.net

WoM works fine(-ish) which rules out Java being the issue.
My luancher works perfectly when I have NO internet connection but only has problems when I'm online.
This is a recent problem and all I've done recently out of the ordinary is install Single Player Commands (although a freind actually did that who already has the mod.)
Single player works but is laggy if I'm online, Fine when I'm offline.

Seeking a reccomended course of action. And I'm not panicing as that would be the worst thing to do.

Try uninstalling the mod (rename minecraft.jar to minecraft.jar.bak, launch minecraft to redownload the jar) and use the none launcher based version of the executable. If you can't find that, let me know and I can give you a copy of mine.

From what you're explaining, it's something to do with when you're online. Check the status of http://minecraft.net when it happens. It might be getting issues on their end.

Also, try running a few speed tests to make sure the issue isn't on your end... http://speedtest.net | http://speed.io

Well here's the speed test results. They look rather poor from my view.

Where was the server that you connected to, and what are you supposed to be getting with those speeds?

And on the download page to Minecraft, just choose the standard executable.
