I had a thought. This thought was regarding users who swear. The intention is hide the swear with no differs of severity of punishment.
I was thinking about implementing a system that blocks out all swears and replaces them with asterix. All words that are swears would be replaced with an asterix sign. Mods would follow the same process as they would if a player would swear with no asterix censors.
The message would be viewed for example: **** D:
Hops+ would see 2 lines from the player when he swears. One containing the original post and the next being the censored one. The messages would be view for example:
damn D:
**** D:
With damn being a replacement for a much more indecent word, and the 2 lines could be the other way around (Whatever Zion and County prefer).
The "**** D:" won't be a separate message that the ops see. It would be the message they see in public chat.

Seems interesting, it depends on how quickly it can pull each word said and run it through the list, plus working out the system to add or remove keywords, and working out a system where symbols and numbers are used to replace characters.

It may be done, I could take the censor list from these forums and test it.

Can we make it so words like A.rsenal don't get censored?
My team often gets censored on forums ._.

Maybe the forums don't like your team?

That's because it has Ar.se in it, and the trigger sets on anything with ar.se in front of it, so it hides it out.

I have since fixed this, by adding "Arsenal" to the censor list, and replacing it with "Arsenal".
