Most of you already know about this now, but for those who don't...

Hawknet Beta now runs a server with test builds of Bukkit. These builds are still known to have bugs in them, and may crash at any time. Your items or builds are not garunteed when playing there, and you agree to this by playing there.

Both the 1.8.1 server and 1.7.3 server are running side-by-side pretty well, so the old server is still up if you want to play on it.

The connection information for the servers are as follows:

• Hawket Beta Test 1.8.1 - Bukkit build #1136 - hawknetcomputing.co.uk:5839

I will update the server software every day. There are multiple builds of bukkit each day at the current rate which fix a lot of issues with previous versions. The server will be stopped, as to save chunk data first.

Q: Will this become the official Hawknet Beta server?
A: As soon as a recommended build of Bukkit is released, and plugin creators update their plugins, then yes, this will replace the 1.7.3 server.

Q: What will happen to the old map?
A: As per the community vote, people don't want the old map anymore. Use the 1.8.1 server to see if you actually do want the map, and I may restore parts of it with MCEdit.

Q: What plugins will you run on this server? Will I get any commands out of it?
A: A few common plugins to make running the server far better will be added, once they're updated. A few like Essentials, BigBrother, and Permissions will be added.
Commands will be seriously limited. Guests will still be able to build, but setting homes will be done purely via beds, not commands. Commands to teleport you around will also be limited. The old ranks will remain, and you'll keep your rank from the 1.7.3 server.
