For a long time now, I've wanted to build a full scale recreation of the dai-gurren from gurren lagann, but it would be absolutely massive and could take weeks to build it on my own.

Here is a good example of the size of the dai gurren:
Image
Notice how small gurren (bottom right) looks next to the dai-gurren.

Almost a year and a half ago, i built a small version of the dai-gurren in classic, i have a topic about it here viewtopic.php?f=18&t=529. For full effect, it needs to be roughly three times as big as the one i made in classic, possibly even bigger. Also it has to be built in water, because when you put legs on it, the blade on the front end looks... well, pervy

Would anyone be willing to help me with this build?

Which server would this be on? If it is on Tekkit I will help and use some of my magical stuff to speed it up.

Ok, so i started building it, and its not nearly as massive as i thought it would be xD As it turns out, I've been making my mechs too big, and they only have to fit in the cargo bay. If i had to guess, it will be a 1:2 scale recreation of the original, which is still pretty big. It's big enough that if you stand on one end, you can't see the other end with render distance on far.

Millions of blocks and over a week later, I've finished the exterior (aside from the cannons and giant smokestack on the back).

This is the only screenshot i managed to get, i kept getting errors when i tried to take one from the top of the build (something to do with extreme render distance maybe?). Image
Keep in mind the whole thing isn't loaded in the screenshot, i was amazed i managed to get as much loaded as i did xD

If you want to have a look at it, look east of the spawn on dynmap, its in the middle of the ocean, you can't miss it xD

Just send me a chat message when you are on and need help, as long as I'm of forums I will probably have time to work.

Walrus, you can work on it any time you want. If you'd like to try and make the cannons, that would be great :3 The dai-gurren is just east of the spawn, in fact you should be able to see it from the shore x3

I've been using this image for everything but the interior, this should give you a pretty good idea of what the cannons look like and where they go.

And yet that thing isn't supposed go in the sea? I never understood that. it's BOAT hull. How can Dia Gurren not be suaitable for warter?
I'll add my hand to helping with this at some point. It's not like Large ships are something I've not done before.

Ikr? If you've not seen the anime, it was eventually retrofitted with a paddle and flippers and put into the water.

I saw the Anime. And the English Dubbing wasn't that bad at all. One of the few Animes where I preffered the English Dub even.
