I apologise for the downtime we recently had. An issue with the server appeared overnight and rendered it inoperative for some time. It's still running on the same hardware, but I think a drive controller is on its way out.

I come and check in every once in a while just to see how things are going. This place makes up a lot of my childhood so it’s like a nostalgia trip every time I come back. I remember getting jealous of gdssgd when they got promoted to mod. I’m still a little salty I never got mod miss you guys a lot. Honestly you’ll all hold a really cozy spot in my heart.

I know I'm asking for quite a lot. But from the sounds of it a decent amount of people are interested in playing again

If enough people are up for it and want to start playing minecraft again. We could always make the server whitelisted, reset the map and then work together to create a spawn megacity. Yes whitelisting the server would be a massive jump from what we did before, but it would allow some of us older timers to play again without the constant threat of new players griefing.

Well all wanted to get away from spawn so that the newbies wouldn't grief us. But we ended up secluding ourselves. Perhaps if we just built up spawn into a megacity and trusted in the moderation to keep it clean and grief free we would have had more fun doing things together. Y'know instead of slaving away on our personal projects. Cough Cough Grey Haven...

I think the issue we ran into near the end, was that on the rare ocassion there was more than 1 or 2 people online we would all be off working on our own projects. Meaning it sometimes felt like you were just on a singleplayer world. I'm sure if the server ever had a revival and we all worked on large community builds instead of our own seperate projects, then the server may see a second life

I too am still alive. Not all that active anymore. I did request that Zion derank me, both on the forums and on the server as a "Just in case" measure if someone ever steals my password. No falling out. Just moving on. "Country roads... Take me home"

It's borked. Server's on fire, Zion's killed a man, and there are goats running loose through both Zion's house and mine. Bad situation all round. It wont be up today. We're taking another crack at it tomorrow.

Alright gents. I've turned on the server. It immediately broke everything and nobody's able to connect. Currently working with Zion to fix the issue. Should be up in like 20 minutes if we don't get frustrated. Also F*ck Java.

Alright Ladies and Gentlemen, I wasn't just blowing smoke. The issues are resolved and we should be ready to go come Friday. INB4 I turn on the server and everything breaks.

Sorry mates. As it stands, without going into too much detail, there's an issue preventing me from accessing console. Once it's resolved, I'll have free reign to turn on the server whenever. Since there's such a delay, I'm thinking of just leaving it on for the first week and see what the turnout is there. If it stays largely unused during the week, we'll swap to weekend rotations I spoke of earlier.

I've gotten the go ahead from Zion to turn the server back on. I'm thinking of only having it on during the weekends and having it off during the week. However if there's support for having it on all the time, I'd love to hear it. It's probably not going to be up to date, so all of the settings and versions we had previously will still apply. Bring a friend, have some really old school fun and I hope to see you there this weekend. I'll turn it on... Sometime tomorrow night.
